The 100% Online 神学证书课程 at Brescia University is grounded in the Roman Catholic faith tradition and reflects the Second Vatican Council’s commitments to ecumenism, 宗教自由, a deeper study of the wellsprings of the Catholic tradition, and a reaffirmation of the vocation of all to serve the Church. The program supports the Council’s emphasis on the vital role of lay ecclesial ministry, while also supporting those seeking to become permanent deacons (please check with your local diocese to determine the deacon application process).
The 神学证书课程 is a 15-credit hour (5 course) online program that can be completed in less than two academic years. The purpose of the program is to prepare 学生 who wish to serve the Church in catechetical and/or lay ministerial roles in the Church, to provide continuing education for 学生 who may already be serving the Church, 培养个人, 精神上的, 神学, 田园, and professional qualities needed for effective Christian ministry, to assist 学生 in discerning their vocation to love, and to provide a foundational knowledge base for 学生 who wish to later pursue a Theology/Pastoral Studies degree. Students who complete the program will have the opportunity to apply the credit hours earned toward a bachelor’s degree in Theology, with a Pastoral Studies emphasis. Candidates for the Permanent Diaconate may also earn the Theology Certificate as part of their larger program of studies.
